The MARS project will develop a laboratory-validated modular AESA radar subsystem in the form of a standardised “tile” designed for integration into ELDIS radars. Outputs: a prototype of the basic tile, a functional sample of the antenna part and the T/R module, and a digital solution (digital twin, reference DBF/basic processing chain, validation scenarios and documentation).
The aim of the MARS project is to develop and laboratory-validate a standardised, scalable modular AESA radar subsystem (a “tile”) as a repeatable building block for future ELDIS radars and their system integration in ISR applications. The project addresses the root causes of the problem – dependence on monolithic custom-made solutions and the high integration complexity of multichannel systems – by creating a modular architecture with defined interfaces, ensuring channel coherence and synchronisation, mastering calibration and the link to the digital front end (digital beamforming and a basic detection chain), and verifying the parameters using a unified validation methodology.
This project is co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund under the Operational Programme Technologies and Applications for Competitiveness, under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
